Tori Hughes Talks About The Ups and Downs of Entrepreneurship
According to Forbes, the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in America is black women. Being in that number is 26 year old Tori Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. As a full time entrepreneur, Hughes has been fully self employed a little over a year. She stated that she love the fact that it’s less stress, a better feeling, and more money. But she has also realized that there are ups and downs of being your own boss as well.
After working crazy hours at her last job, hardly being able to see her child, and having to travel back and forth to her hometown of Aliceville, Alabama for childcare due to crazy work hours, she stepped out on faith. She put in a two weeks notice at her last job and decided to only work for herself.
With years of experience, a growing clientele, and a steady demand, Hughes put her main focus into the beauty industry. With styling hair and selling hair and other beauty products in her own collection, Hughes started The Glam Shack.
Knowing that multiple streams of income is important nowadays, Hughes also tapped into freight dispatching as a dispatcher as well holding courses to teach the industry to others as well.
Over the last year, Hughes has learned that entrepreneurship is not always the easiest. She has stated that there are lows as well as highs. Taking risks, investing money, and working with the public directly being some of the things that can go either good or bad.
On December 5th, Hughes will be hosting her first my first business empowerment event, The Bosses Supper. She has stated that the event will be for both current entrepreneurs as well as aspiring entrepreneurs. The event will be for networking, sharing personal struggles, winning seasons, to motivate, and to give advice. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
